By accessing or using ChooseFIRE, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
ChooseFIRE provides calculators, educational content, regional presets, and optional account sync to help users model financial independence scenarios. The service is intended for personal planning and education, not for regulated financial, investment, tax, legal, accounting, or retirement advice.
You may use core planning features without signing in. If you create or use an account, you are responsible for maintaining access to your email, device, and credentials, and for the accuracy of the information you save or sync.
You retain responsibility for your inputs and plans. You grant ChooseFIRE the limited permission needed to store, process, display, and sync that information for the service.
You agree not to misuse the service, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, upload harmful code, scrape at unreasonable scale, or use ChooseFIRE for unlawful, abusive, or misleading purposes.
You are responsible for verifying assumptions before relying on any output.
ChooseFIRE, its interface, text, calculations, graphics, and product design are protected by intellectual property laws. Except as allowed by law or written permission, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or commercially exploit the service or its content.
We may change, suspend, limit, or discontinue features at any time. We try to keep the service useful and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
ChooseFIRE may link to external resources or rely on third-party services for hosting, analytics, authentication, or infrastructure. We are not responsible for third-party content, terms, policies, or availability.
The service is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChooseFIRE will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for losses arising from decisions made using the service.
If you send questions, support requests, corrections, or product suggestions through a published ChooseFIRE contact channel, you allow us to review, respond to, and use that material to operate and improve the service. We are not required to implement suggestions or provide compensation for ideas submitted voluntarily.
ChooseFIRE is intended for people who are able to use online planning tools responsibly. If you use the service on behalf of another person or organization, you are responsible for having authority to do so. The service is primarily designed for personal financial planning and education, not for resale, managed advisory services, or high-volume automated use.
You are responsible for maintaining control of the email address, device, browser, and credentials used to access your account. Notify us through the published contact channel if you believe your account has been compromised. We may take reasonable steps to protect the service, including invalidating sessions or limiting access while we investigate.
Account sync is a convenience feature, not a regulated recordkeeping service. You should keep your own records for important financial, tax, investment, or retirement decisions. ChooseFIRE may transform, validate, archive, or remove data as needed to operate the product, prevent abuse, and keep the system reliable.
You may not reverse engineer protected parts of the service, bypass access controls, overload the service, probe for vulnerabilities without permission, upload malicious code, impersonate others, interfere with other users, or use ChooseFIRE to provide misleading financial claims. You also may not use the service in a way that violates applicable law or infringes the rights of others.
ChooseFIRE may rely on third-party services for hosting, authentication, analytics, infrastructure, or external reference links. Those services are governed by their own terms and policies. We do not control third-party websites and are not responsible for their content, security, availability, or decisions you make after leaving ChooseFIRE.
We may add, change, rename, limit, or remove features as the product evolves. Some features may be experimental, educational, or for lightweight decision support rather than core financial planning. Experimental or entertainment-oriented features should not be treated as investment, retirement, legal, tax, or other professional advice.
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access if we reasonably believe the service is being misused, a security risk exists, the account flow is compromised, or continued access could harm ChooseFIRE, other users, or service providers. You may stop using the service at any time and clear local data from your browser.
These Terms are interpreted under applicable law, without limiting consumer rights that cannot be waived. If a dispute arises, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally. Any unresolved dispute should be handled by a court or forum with proper jurisdiction under applicable law.
We may update these Terms as the service changes. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated Terms. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated date. For questions about these Terms, use the contact channel published by ChooseFIRE.
